General point to point inflation reaches 8.55% in July

DHAKA, August 7, 2025 (BSS) - The general point-to-point inflation rate in the country in July, 2025 reached 8.55 percent.

According to the latest data from the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS), the latest inflation rate was mainly driven by a slight uptrend in both food and in non-food inflation. The general point-to-point inflation rate in June, 2025 was 8.48 percent.

In July 2025, the point-to-point food inflation totaled 7.56 percent, up from 7.39 percent in June, 2025, the BBS data showed.

In May 2025, the point-to-point food inflation declined to 8.59 percent, down from 8.63 percent in April, 2025.

Meanwhile, the non-food inflation rate also showed a slight increase reaching 9.38 percent in July, 2025 slightly up from 9.37 percent in June, 2025.

The point-to-point inflation rate increased slightly in both the rural and urban areas last month.
