TCB to start selling essentials in Ctg Sunday

CHATTOGRAM, Aug 8, 2025 (BSS) - The Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) will resume selling essential commodities through trucks at 25 points across the port city from Sunday, after a three-month break, to provide essentials at affordable prices to low-income groups.

Sources at the TCB Chattogram Regional Office said the corporation will sell daily necessities to low-income individuals at subsidized prices openly every day.

A Smart Family Cardholder can purchase five kilograms of rice at Tk 30 per kg, two liters of soybean oil at Tk 100 per liter, two kilograms of lentils at Tk 60 per kg, and one kilogram of sugar at Tk 70 from a designated dealer by showing the card.

The total cost of these four items will be Tk 540, TCB sources added.
