5 new factories get LEED certification

DHAKA, Aug 13, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh's Ready-Made Garment (RMG) sector has reached another milestone in its green journey, with 5 new USGBC-certified LEED factories added to its ranks. 

This brings the total to 258 certified factories, including 109 Platinum and 133 Gold certifications-cementing Bangladesh's position as the global leader in environmentally friendly garment manufacturing.

The Factories that have been certified are:

Notably, Bangladesh now boasts 68 of the world's top 100 highest-rated LEED-certified buildings, a testament to its exceptional green performance on the global stage.

Rubel said each new green factory is more than just a certification-it is a testament to the sector's commitment to reducing environmental impact, improving resource efficiency, and delivering on the promise of sustainable growth. 

"The continued expansion of LEED-certified facilities underlines the RMG industry's ability not only to survive in challenging times but to lead globally in shaping a greener, more responsible future." He added.
