DHAKA, Aug 13, 2025 (BSS) - Stock markets today finished the session of the week as investor sentiment oscillated between continuing profit-taking and cautious bargain-hunting. 

DSEX, the broad index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), inched down by 1.1 points or -0.02 percent (pc) to settle at 5,314 points compared to 5,315 points in the previous trading session.

On the sectoral front, Pharmaceutical (17.5pc) issues exerted the highest turnover, followed by Bank (13.2pc) and Textile (10.4pc) sectors. Sectors mostly displayed positive returns, out of which Jute (5.6pc), Tannery (1.3pc) and Paper (0.8pc) showed the most gains on the bourse today. 

Out of the 397 issues traded, 119 advanced, 201 declined and 77 remained unchanged.

The port city bourse, CSE, also experienced a flat session today. The Selective Categories' Index (CSCX) and All Share Price Index (CASPI) edged down by 5.8 and 15.0 points respectively.
