LONDON, Aug 20, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - British inflation accelerated more than expected in July, reaching its highest level since the start of 2024, official data showed Wednesday, adding more pressure on the UK government and economy.

The Consumer Prices Index rose to 3.8 percent last month compared with an annual inflation rate of 3.6 percent in June, the Office for National Statistics said in a statement.
