Remittance inflow rises by 7.4pc till August 20

DHAKA, Aug 21, 2025 (BSS) - Inflow of remittances witnessed a year-on-year growth of 7.4 percent (pc), reaching US$1,642 million in the first 20 days of August, according to the latest data of Bangladesh Bank (BB) issued here today.
 
Last year, during the same period, the country's remittance inflow was $1,530 million.
 
During the July 2025 to August 20, 2025 of the current fiscal year, expatriates sent remittances of $4,120 million, which was only $3,443 million during the same period of the previous fiscal year.
