'Submission of Income Tax Return Using e-Return System' training held

DHAKA, Aug 24, 2025 (BSS) - Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) conducted training on "Submission of Income Tax Return Using e-Return System" held on Saturday at ICSB premises in the city aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of its members in complying with the latest income tax regulations.

Md Shamibur Rahman FCS, secretary in Charge of ICSB, introduced the resource persons and outlined the objectives of the training, said a press release here today. 

M Naseemul Hye FCS, president of ICSB, chaired the training session, delivered the welcome speech and thanked everyone for attending such a time-befitting training.

The session was conducted by Wakil Ahmed, additional commissioner of Taxes and Director of Central Intelligence Cell, National Board of Revenue (NBR). 

He was accompanied by Tomal Kumer Mozumder, programmer of ICT Department, National Board of Revenue (NBR).

During the training, the resource persons provided an in-depth overview of the submission of income tax return using e-return system, covering areas such as legal framework and return filing obligations under the Income Tax Act, 2023; key features and functionalities of the e-Return System; preparation of the e-return system in prescribed formats; step-by-step guidance on online registration, e-return preparation, submission, tax payment and issuance of tax certificates and classification of income, taxable income and calculation of tax liability.

They emphasized the benefits of the latest e-Return platform (www.etaxnbr.gov.bd), including simplified filing, digital archiving, online verification, and faster service delivery. Participants were also introduced to FAQs, user manuals and support systems.

The session concluded with an interactive discussion, where participants raised queries regarding practical challenges in e-return preparation, online payment gateways, tax rebates and record verification. 

The resource persons addressed these issues and requested the participants to encourage other taxpayers to adopt digital systems for greater transparency and efficiency.

A good number of ICSB members and senior officials from the country's leading corporate houses attended the training programme. 

Later, the President of ICSB handed over the certificates to the participants.
