DHAKA, Sept 20, 2025 (BSS) - The 42nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) was held today at the BGMEA Complex in the capital’s Uttara area.

The meeting was presided over by BGMEA President Mahmud Hasan Khan.

The current Board of Directors including Vice Presidents and Directors, former Vice Presidents and Directors, members of various Standing Committees, and general members of the Association were present.

The audited financial statements for the fiscal year 2023–2024 were approved in the meeting, along with the presentation and approval of the budget for the fiscal year 2024–2025. An auditor was also appointed for the fiscal year 2024–2025, said a press release.

In his remarks, BGMEA President Mahmud Hasan Khan highlighted the current state of the apparel industry, various initiatives undertaken by his Board over the past three months, and the future action plans.

On the other hand, BGMEA Vice President (Finance) Mizanur Rahman presented the financial report for the fiscal year 2023–2024 and the budget for the new fiscal year.

The meeting reaffirmed a collective commitment to address the challenges of the industry through united efforts.

It is worth mentioning that this AGM for the fiscal year 2023–2024 was originally scheduled to be held by the previous Board.

However, as they could not complete their tenure and the Association was run by a government-appointed administrator for about eight months, the meeting could not be held on time.

In this context, after assuming responsibility, the current Board arranged this meeting at the earliest possible time as a symbol of their transparency and accountability to the members.
