23.8pc growth of remittance inflow till April 19

DHAKA, April 20, 2026 (BSS) - Inflow of remittances witnessed a year-on-year growth of 23.8 percent reaching US$2,127 million in the first 19 days of April, according to the latest data of Bangladesh Bank (BB) issued today.
 
Last year, during the same period, the country's remittance inflow was $1,719 million.
 
During the July to April 19, 2026 of the current fiscal year, expatriates sent remittances of $28,336 million, which was $23,504 million during the same period of the previous fiscal year.
