Commerce Ministry appoints new administrator for BAIRA

DHAKA, April 23, 2026 (BSS) - The Ministry of Commerce has appointed Mohammad Badrul Huq, Joint Secretary of the Planning Cell, as the new administrator for Bangladesh Association of International Recruiting Agencies (BAIRA).

According to an office order issued by the Ministry's Trade Organization-2 section today, the appointment will take effect on April 28, 2026, for a period of four months. 

The move comes as the tenure of the current administrator is set to expire on April 27, 2026.

The order, signed by Director General Mohammad Mostafa Jamal Haider, stipulates that the new administrator is tasked with maintaining the continuity of BAIRA's activities in accordance with the Trade Organization Act 2022 and the Trade Organization Rules 2026.

In addition to managing the day-to-day operations of the organization, Huq has been mandated to conduct a fair election and hand over responsibilities to the newly elected committee. 

Following the transition of power, he is required to inform the Ministry of the completion of the process.
