SANGSAD BHABAN, April 23, 2026 (BSS) –Education Minister Dr. A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milon today said in Jatiya Sangsad that the government has attached importance, in principle, to initiating investigation into alleged irregularities and corruption in the education sector during the period from the 2008-09 to 2024-25 fiscal years.

Replying to a written question from ruling party lawmaker Md. Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas (Pabna-5) in the House, he said the Ministry of Education has already issued necessary directives to the relevant authorities to review the matter thoroughly.

The minister said the authorities have been asked to properly examine and verify potential irregularities, corruption, and management weaknesses during the mentioned period and prepare a comprehensive report.

He further said that upon completion of the investigation, the government will take an appropriate decision regarding the publication of a 'white
paper' based on the analysis of the findings.

However, he noted that due to the extensive scope of the investigation, it is not possible at this moment to specify a definite timeline for its
completion.

"Necessary steps will be taken to formulate and publish the white paper in phases after the investigation and scrutiny are completed," he added.
