
DHAKA, Apr 23, 2026 (BSS) - A four-member delegation from Yunnan Minzu
University, China today (Thursday) visited the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha
Protisthan (BKSP), said a press release.
The delegation attended a meeting to review the progress of the agreement
signed with BKSP last year.
The meeting was led by Brigadier General Md. Saif Ullah, Director General of
BKSP, and Wang Kun, deputy director of the international cooperation and
exchange department of Yunnan Minzu University.
It can be mentionable that on December 12, 2024, a Memorandum of
Understanding was signed between BKSP and Yunnan Minzu University of China,
which is considered an important milestone in the development of sports in
Bangladesh.
During the discussions, Yunnan Minzu University offered BKSP four "Study in
YMU" scholarships for the 2026 academic year. The talks also focused on
establishing a China-Bangladesh Tai Chi Center and a Bangladesh-China Cricket
Center.
The proposed initiatives include teacher and student exchange programmes, the
formation of Tai Chi and cricket training teams, joint scientific research,
co-authorship of high-quality social science papers, and the development of
an international sports and sports medicine guideline framework.
They also discussed setting up Confucius classrooms and regularly organizing
sports exchange activities for young athletes and students.
The review of the agreement's progress resulted in productive discussions
between the two sides. After the meeting, the visiting delegation toured
BKSP's indoor cricket center, Tai Chi center, and Chinese language lab.
They also expressed their satisfaction and hoped that the friendly relations
between the two institutions would become even stronger in the coming days.
