Bangla QR processes 77,165 transactions worth Tk22.02cr in 2 days

DHAKA, July 2, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh's interoperable digital payment platform, Bangla QR, processed 77,165 transactions amounting to Taka 22.02 
crore during June 30 and July 1, reflecting the growing adoption of QR code-based digital payments across the country.

According to Bangladesh Bank data, transactions totaling Tk 22.02 crore were carried out over the two-day period, reflecting growing public acceptance of 
the central bank-backed interoperable payment system.

Bangla QR enables customers of participating banks and mobile financial service providers to make seamless merchant payments by scanning a single QR 
code, regardless of the payment service provider they use.

The platform is designed to promote cashless transactions, improve interoperability in the digital payments ecosystem, and enhance financial inclusion.

The latest transaction figures indicate continued momentum in the use of digital payment services as Bangladesh advances toward a more inclusive and efficient digital financial system.
