MANIKGANJ, Jan 5, 2025 (BSS) - The ferry service on the Paturia-Daulatdia route resumed this morning after 10.40 hours of suspension due to dense fog.

Deputy General Manager of the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Paturia Ghat Nasir Mahmud Chowdhury said all the ferries started moving as the dense fog disappeared by 11:40 am.

Necessary measures have been taken to avoid traffic jams on both sides of the Padma River.

Meanwhile, ferry movement on the Aricha-Kazirhat route became normal around 9:30am after 9.50 hours of suspension.

Aricha Ghat sources said the BIWTC authorities were compelled to suspend the service for the same reason around 12 past midnight.
