Two held with 1,000 Yaba tablets in Rangpur

RANGPUR, Jan 7, 2025 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested two presumed drug traffickers with 1,000 pieces of Yaba tablets from Shothibari point on the Dhaka-Rangpur highway in Mithapukur upazila here on Monday.

 "On a tip-off, an operational team of RAB-13 from its Rangpur battalion headquarters searched the two persons there and arrested them with the contraband Yaba tablets from the spot," a press release said today.

 The detainees were identified as Md Saiful Islam alias Khokan, 30, of village Shuvopur under Kotwali police station in Cumilla district and Md Nazmul Islam, 32, of village Bagdua Rasulpur under Pirganj upazila in Rangpur district.

 "The elite force handed the arrested persons over to Mithapukur police station for further legal actions," the release added.
