Red Crescent distributes blankets in Rangpur city

RANGPUR, Jan 7, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) distributed 500 pieces of blankets among the cold-stricken poor, beggars, helpless and low-income group people in the city to mitigate their sufferings from biting cold. 

 Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) of Rangpur Md Abdul Mannan distributed the blankets in a ceremony held at Rangpur Shishu Niketon High School premises on Monday as the chief guest.

 Headmaster of Rangpur Shishu Niketon High School Bimal Kumar Roy, BDRCS's Rangpur Unit Level Officer Fazlul Karim, its Youth Member and Coordinator M Billh Shah Fakir, and Metropolitan Member-secretary Rahamat Ali present in the ceremony.

 Volunteers of BDRCS Rangpur Unit staged the blanket distribution ceremony. 

 The chief guest highly praised the Rangpur unit of BDRCS for coming forward with winter clothes and blankets for the beggars, helpless and low-income people of Rangpur when they are in the grip of winter.

 Expressing his gratitude to BDRCS, he called upon other voluntary organizations and affluent citizens to come forward in this way to support the cold-stricken people in Rangpur region.
