Nine arrested in Bogura for making fake ID cards

BOGURA, Jan 9, 2025 (BSS) – Nine people were arrested for allegedly making fake military, different government and non-government organisations identification (ID) cards last night.

The arrested were produced before the court this noon, police said.

The arrested - Raju Ahmed, 50, Ashraf Ali, 55, Navin Pramanik, 27, Md. Mamun, 30 of Bogura Sadar, Manjurul Islam Majnu, 30, of Kahalu upazila, Mujahidul Islam Selim, 52, Md. Nahid Islam, 19, Sejanur Rahman, 36, and Sohel Rana, 25, hailed from Gabtoli upazila of the district.

On a tip-off, a team of joint force conducted the drive at Shapla Market of the town and arrested nine people from the printing shops, for their involvement in making fake identification cards.

Equipment used for forgery, including computers, laptops, specialised printers, scanners, and other materials, were seized during the raid.

During preliminary interrogation, the detainees admitted about their involvement in the crime, said MM Mainuddin, officer-in-charge of Bogura Sadar police station.
