Paturia-Daulatdia ferry movement resumes after 3hrs

MANIKGANJ, Jan 11, 2025 (BSS) – The ferry services on the Daulatdia-Paturia route resumed after a 3-hour suspension due to dense fog.

The services resumed at 10:10am on Saturday, after the fog density decreased.

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Paturia Ghat Deputy General Manager (DGM) Nasir Mahmud Chowdhury said four ferries - Faridpur, Bonolota, Keramat  Ali and Shah Poran were waiting at Paturia Ghat, while six ferries Kumilla, Bhasha Shahid Borkot, Kapoti, Beer Shreshtha Ruhul Amin, Hasna Hena and Beer Shreshtha Motiur were at Daulatdia Ghat and Beer Shreshtha Jahangir was stranded in the middle of the Padma river during the suspension period.

All the ferries started to move as the fog density subsided. To avoid accidents, ferry services were suspended from 7:10am on Saturday morning.

Meanwhile, Aricha-Kazirhat ferry movement became normal after 2.5 hours as it remained suspended from 7.00 am to 9.50 am, BIWTC Aricha Ghat sources said.
