Huge smuggled goods seized in Sylhet, Sunamganj frontiers

SYLHET, Jan 11, 2025 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB)-48 Battalion in
separate drives seized different types of smuggled goods worth over Taka 72
lakh from the frontier areas of Sylhet and Sunamganj districts early this
morning.

The BGB team conducted the drives in Pratappur, Panthumai, Sangram, Sonarhat,
Bichnakandi, Lafarge, Noakot and Kalairag and seized the smuggled goods, said
Commander of Sylhet BGB Battalion Lieutenant Colonel Md. Hafizur Rahman at a
press conference.

The seized goods are a huge amount of Indian sugar, oranges, chocolates,
buffalo meat, beer, liquor, garlic and horn fish being smuggled from
Bangladesh worth about Taka 72.36 lakh.
