4 held with 300 bags of illegal TSP fertilizer in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Jan 11, 2025 (BSS): Chattogram district police arrested four people with 300 bags of TSP fertilizers and a truck while illegally smuggling  to Nilphamari district.

The arrested  were   Md. Khalil, 32, Md. Rabiul, 30, Md. Saju, 34 and Md. Rakibul, 32.
 Md. Mujibur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge  of Sitakunda Police Station said they were arrested from Baradarogarhat in Sitakunda upazila on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway at 2 am last night.
 
Sub-Inspector Md. Zafar said four people were going to Dhaka on a truck from Chattogram carrying 300 bags of fertilizer.
 
Being tipped off, police intercepted the truck from  Baradarogarhat weighing scale area on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway. During interrogation, the arrested persons said they were taking the fertilizers to Nilphamari. However, they claimed that the fertilizers were theirs, but after waiting for a long time, they could not show any valid documents in this regard.
 
As they could not produce any valid documents, police filed a case against them.
