LALMONIRHAT, Jan 13, 2025 (BSS) - A woman was killed and five others were 
injured in a road accident in South Parulia Battala area under Hatibandha 
upazila of the district early this morning.

The deceased was Nuri Begum, 55, wife of Sahidul Islam, a resident of the 
aforesaid area.

The accident took place on the Lalmonirhat-Burimari highway when a cement-
laden truck entered into a roadside house as its driver lost control over the 
steering, leaving Nuri dead on the spot and injuring five other members of a 
family, said Mahamudunnabi, officer-in-charge (OC) of Hatibandha Police 
Station.

The injured were sent to the Upazila Health Complex, the OC added.
