Two drug traders detained with 36,000 yaba tablets in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Jan 18, 2025 (BSS) – The detective branch (DB) of police arrested two alleged drug traders with 36,000 pieces of contraband Yaba tablets worth around Tk 1.80 crore from Komolmunsir Bazar area under Patiya upazila of the district in the early hours of today. 

The arrested were- Nasir Uddin, 48, and his associate Rashiful Islam Rahul, 19 and both hailed from Sikandar para area under Chokoria upazila of Cox's Bazar district. The police team also seized a microbus which is used for trading the Yaba tablets. 

Acting on a tip-off, a team of DB Police of Ctg halted a Chattogram bound microbus from Coxsbazar in the area around 12.30 am and detained Nasir and Rahul with the ‘Yaba tablets’, Inspector Md Sazedul Islam of DB who led the team told BSS.

A case was filed with Potiya police in this connection.
