Bodies of missing siblings recovered in Madaripur after 3 days

MADARIPUR, Feb, 8, 2025 (BSS) - The bodies of two siblings, who went missing 
three days ago while bathing in a river at Tarmugoria village, were recovered 
from the Kumar river in Madaripur Sadar upazila this morning.

The bodies of Kulsum Akter, 11, and Minhaz, 7, children of Liton Matubbar, 
residents of the village were found floating on the banks of the river in the 
Rasti and Char Rupaiya areas under the upazila.

Earlier, the two siblings along with other children went to take bath in the 
Kumar River at around 12:15 pm on Wednesday (February 5). At one stage, the 
duo went missing in the river.

Sensing the matter, their family members sought help from the fire service. 
Later, being informed, a team of divers from Madaripur Fire Service Station 
rushed to the scene and conducted rescue operations but failed to locate 
them.

However, on Saturday morning, locals spotted the bodies and recovered them.

Madaripur Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdullah Al Mamun confirmed 
the recovery.
