The court sentenced former Thakurgaon Municipality Mayor and Awami League leader Anjuman Ara Banya to prison, along with District Jubo League General Secretary Debashish Dutta.

THAKURGAON, Feb 9, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today shown arrested of former Thakurgaon municipality mayor and Awami League leader Anjuman Ara Begum Banya and district Jubo League general secretary Debashish Dutt Sameer in a new case and sent them to jail.

The two accused were produced before the court of Judicial Magistrate Rahima Khatun on Sunday morning and both of them were shown arrested in a new case.

District Bar Association president and plaintiff lawyer Joynal Abedin said that the police showed them arrested in a case filed on January 1 on various charges including arson, explosives and vandalism in the district BNP office.
