Two killed in Tangail road accident

TANGAIL, Feb 10, 2025 (BSS) - Two people were killed in a road accident in Jokarchar area under Kalihati upazila of the district today.

The deceased were Abdul Halim, 35, of Kurshabenu village and Abdur Razzak Akand, 54, of Gobindapur village of the upazila.

The accident occurred on the Dhaka-Tangail-Jamuna Bridge highway around 11:30 am as a bus hit a battery-run auto van from behind, leaving van driver and its passenger dead on the spot, Taherul Islam, sub-inspector of Jamuna Bridge East Police Station.

Later, police recovered the bodies. Police seized the bus, but its driver and assistant fled away.
