20th death anniversary of journalist Belal tomorrow

KHULNA, Feb 10, 2025 (BSS) - The 20th death anniversary of journalist Sheikh Belal Uddin will be observed here tomorrow through various programmes.

Khulna Press Club and the Khulna Metropolitan Union of Journalists (MUJ) have jointly chalked out several events to commemorate their former vice president and president, respectively.

The programmes include placing wreaths at the memorial monument in front of Khulna Press Club, offering doa and munajat at his grave in Rayer Mahal, and holding memorial meetings as well as doa mahfil.

Sheikh Belal Uddin, the then vice president of Khulna Press Club, was critically injured in a bomb attack in front of the press club on February 5, 2005. He later succumbed to his injuries at Dhaka Combined Military Hospital (CMH) on February 11.

He was also the president of MUJ and Bureau Chief of Dainik Sangram.
