Two killed in separate road accidents in Lakshmipur

LAKSHMIPUR, Feb 14, 2025 (BSS) - Two persons were killed and two others 
injured in separate road accidents in different areas of the district today.

The deceased were Nur Hossain, 50, of Dakshin Jamirtali area under Sadar 
upazila and Abul Khayer, 48, son of Abdul Huq, hailed from Pashchim Latifpur 
area of the district.

Police said an accident took place when a motorcycle, moving toward Digholi 
Bazar, overturned on Lakshmipur-Daserhat road in Boropukurpar area as its 
rider lost control over the wheel at about 11am, leaving Nur Hossain dead on 
the spot and injuring two others.

In another accident, a pedestrian Abul Khayer received severe injuries when a 
speedy motorbike hit him on Lakshmipur-Chandraganj road in Badhergora area 
under Chandraganj Bazar of Sadar upazila here last night. 

Khayer succumbed to his injuries on Cumilla road around 11.30pm as he was 
shifted to Dhaka for treatment, the sources added.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chandraganj Police Station Md Kauser Hamid 
confirmed the matter.

Two bodies were recovered and critically wounded were admitted to Sadar 
Hospital of the district, he added.
