AL leader held at HSIA

HABIGANJ, Feb 14, 2025 (BSS) - Police arrested an Awami League (AL) leader 
named Ali Amjad Talukder, 68, from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport 
(HSIA) in the capital on his way to the United States of America (USA) in the 
early hours of today.

The law enforcers detained him as he was accused in a case over anti-
discrimination students' movement with Ajmiriganj Police Station in the 
district, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the police station ABM Maidul Hasan told 
BSS. 

Ali Amjad is the senior vice-president of Ajmiriganj upazila unit of Awami 
League and former chairman of Shibpasha Union Parishad (UP) in Habiganj, he 
said. 

He is being taken to the Ajmiriganj Police Station from Dhaka to present him 
before the court following required procedures, the OC added.
