2 motorcyclists killed in Narsingdi road accident

Narsingdi, 21 Feb, 2025 (BSS) Two motorcyclists were killed in a tragic road accident after being hit by a bus in Narsingdi.

The accident took place today around 2pm at the Dhukundi-Charabagh Bazar area adjacent to Dhaka-Sylhet highway under Raipura Upazila.

Md. Nurul Haque, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhairab Highway Police Station confirmed the information.

The deceased were identified as Md. Roni (28), son of Md. Jumman Mia and Md. Taposh (29), son of Habibur Rahman, both from Jangi Shibpur village under Uttar Bakhar Nagar Union in Raipura. They were business owners by profession.

Police and locals said that the two victims had attended Jummah prayer in Jangi Shibpur and were heading toward Narsingdi for an invitation when a Dhaka-bound Labiba Paribahan bus from Brahmanbaria hit their motorcycle from behind and fled the scene. Though the motorcycle remained mostly intact, the two riders were thrown off and died on the spot.

After getting information, victim's family members and Bhairab Highway Police retrieved their bodies.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhairab Highway Police Station said that the bus responsible for the accident could not be seized. Following a request from the victims' families, the bodies were handed over without autopsy.
