LAKSHMIPUR, Nov 6, 2025 (BSS) – BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia's Advisory Council member Abul Khair Bhuiyan today said fallen and ‘new’ fascists are carrying out campaign to thwart the upcoming polls.

“The fallen and ‘new’ fascists together are trying to spoil the elections by creating a chaotic situation in the country”, he said.

The former lawmaker of Lashmipur-2 constituency made this remark while addressing as the chief guest a function marking anniversary of Lakshmipur Reporters Club at a restaurant here.

“We have sacrificed our bloods for elections for the last 17 years. Our thousands of leaders and activists were the victims of disappearance and killings”, he told the function.

Regarding the sufferings of the Shaheed President Zia’s family, the BNP leader said BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia was sent to jail in false case, saying that even the Zia family was the worst affected in Bangladesh during the fascist regime.

The programme also was addressed, among others, by Lakshmipur Press Club president Hossain Ahmed Helal, District Jamaat secretary AR Hafiz Ullah, Poura Jamaat Ameer Advocate Abul Farah Nishan, Poura BNP president Rezaul Karim Liton and District Jubo Dal president Abdul Alim Humayun.
