ACC files case against nine for embezzling money

PIROJPUR, Feb 22, 2025 (BSS) - Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a 
case against nine people, including the Civil Surgeon of Pirojpur and the 
Resident Medical Officer (RMO) of the Zilla hospital, for allegedly 
embezzling money by showing receipts on paper of medicines and other medical 
supplies worth about Taka two crore from the contracting organisation in the 
2023-2024 fiscal year.

ACC Pirojpur Integrated District Office Deputy Assistant Director Md Moazzem 
Hossain Samrat gave this information through a press release today. 

He said Deputy Assistant Director of the ACC Pirojpur Integrated District 
Office Md Sharif Sheikh filed the case on February 20 under the ACC Act by 
the instructions of its Dhaka office.

The accused in the case are: Civil Surgeon of Pirojpur Dr Md Mizanur Rahman, 
Senior Consultant (Gynaecology) of the district hospital Dr Farhana Rahman, 
its RMO Dr Md Nizam Uddin, Junior Consultant Dr Suranjit Kumar Saha, 
storekeeper Md Al Amin Gazi and medicine supply contractors S M Shamsul 
Arefin, Md Haniful Islam, Zahirul Islam and Md Rasheduzzaman Ershad.
