RANGPUR, Feb 23, 2025 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) -13 arrested an absconding kidnapper of a teenage girl from Saidpur upazila in Nilphamari district on Saturday afternoon.

 "The arrested abductor is Md Jahangir Alam, 22, son of Md Babar Ali of village Sonapukur (Noyapara) in Parbatipur upazila of Dinajpur district," said a press release issued here today.

 The arrested accused with his accomplices forcibly abducted the teenage victim girl from the Dhelapeer area of Saidpur upazila in Nilphamari at 3:45 pm on October 31, 2024.

 Later, the victim's father filed a case in this connection with Saidpur police station of Nilphamari district.

 The incident created a sensation in the area and came to the notice of the Crime Prevention Company (CPC)-2 of Nilphamari Camp of RAB-13.

Alongside the police, CPC-2 of Nilphamari Camp of RAB-13 enforced intelligence activities and started a shadow investigation into the case to nab the absconding accused abductor.
 
"On a tip-off, an operational team of the CPC-2 of Nilphamari Camp of RAB-13 conducted a raid at village Sonapukur (Noyapara) in Parbatipur upazila of Dinajpur and arrested the prime accused of the case Jahangir Alam at 2:30 pm on Saturday.

 The elite force handed over the arrested abductor to Saidpur police station in Nilphamari district, the release added.
