BGB seizes Indian goods worth over Tk 17.29 lakh in Sunamganj

SUNAMGANJ, March 1, 2025 (BSS) - The members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) 
in separate drives seized various types of Indian smuggled goods worth over 
Taka 17.29 lakh from different frontier areas of the district early this 
morning. 

Commander of Sunamganj BGB-28 Battalion Lieutenant Colonel AKM Zakaria Kadir 
told BSS that the BGB personnel conducted separate drives at different BOPs 
including Laurgarh, Charagaon, Banshtala, Bangaon, Chinakandi, Tekerghat, 
Baganbari, Chanpur, Chinakandi and Chinaura areas in the wee hours of today 
and seized the goods.

The smuggled goods including betel leaf, betel nut, sugar, cattle, coal, 
bidi, motorbike and CNG-run three-wheeler worth over Taka 17.29 lakh were 
handed over to the concerned customs office, he added.
