CHANDPUR, March 1, 2025 (BSS) - Three children drowned in separate incidents 
in the district today.

The deceased were identified as three-year old Maimuna of Ramdasdi village of 
Laxmipur Model Union of Sadar upazila, one and a half year-old Miraj of Sakdi 
area under Bagadi union of the district and two-year old Junaid Hossain of 
Rajargaon village under Hajiganj upazila in the district. 

The incidents occurred in the Sadar, Faridganj and Hajiganj upazilas, 
according to Dr Naser Abul Hasan of Chandpur Government General Hospital.

Maimuna's family said she suddenly went missing before her body was 
discovered in a pond next to their house.

Junaid's family said they were busy with chores when he disappeared. Later, 
his body was found floating in a pond near their home.

Meanwhile, Miraj fell into a pond while playing near their home in the 
morning when no one was paying attention on him, according to his family 
members.

"We began searching for him and eventually found his body floating in the 
water. Later, he was rushed to the hospital," they added.

Doctors declared all three children dead when they arrived at the hospital, 
said Dr Naser.

Separate unnatural death (UD) cases were filed in the respective police 
stations in these connections.
