National Voter's Day celebrates in Khulna with enthusiasm

KHULNA, March 2, 2025 (BSS) - The National Voters' Day celebrated today in a befitting manner in Khulna city with the theme of 'Tomar Amar Bangladeshe, Vote Dibo Mile Mishe'.

Marking the day, the Khulna Regional Election Commission (EC) chalked out different programmes including a discussion at its office.

Khulna Divisional Commissioner Md Firoz Sarkar addressed the discussion as chief guest held at the Khulna Regional Election Commission Office.

The Divisional Commissioner said this year's theme for Voter's Day holds great significance. He compared elections to a festival, emphasizing that the excitement of new voters is always noticeable.

He further mentioned that efforts would be made to encourage new voters and assist those who have reached the age of eighteen in registering.
 
Highlighting importance of responsibility, he also said, people are remembered for their work. "If we fulfill our duties properly, both the nation and its people will benefit. We are always ready to support those willing to take on responsibilities," he added.

Khulna deputy commissioner Mohammad Saiful Islam, Additional Commissioner of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Kutub Uddin, Additional Deputy Inspector General of Khulna range Md Belayet Hossain addressed the meeting with Regional Election Officer Foysal Kader in the chair. 

Khulna District Election Officer Md Farazi Benzir Ahammed delivered the welcome speech.

Khulna Divisional Commissioner Md Firoz Sarkar handed over National Identity Card (NID) to the new voters.

Earlier, a colorful rally was brought out from the Regional Election Office in the city.
