4 traders fined TK 1.62 lakh for consumers’ rights violation

CHATTOGRAM, March 2, 2025 (BSS)-The Directorate of National Consumers’ Right Protection (DNCRP) today fined four traders TK 1.62 lakh in the port city for hoarding edible oil in warehouses, selling it at high prices.

The directorate imposed the fines during market monitoring activities in the city.

On Sunday, DNCRP raided city's Pahartali market and fined four traders on charges of violating consumer rights.

DNCRP Deputy Director Faiz Ullah said the traders have been advised not to violate the Consumers’Rights Protection Act, 2009.

Assistant Directors Anisur Rahman, Rana Debnath, Mahmuda Akhter were present in the raid.  Faiz Ullah said that this monitoring activity of DNCRP will continue for the sake of the public interest.
