Two killed in Jamalpur road crash

JAMALPUR, Mar 2, 2025 (BSS) – An auto rickshaw driver and one of its passenger died in a road accident here today.

The accident took place around 8.30 am when the auto rickshaw collided head on with a Jamalpur bound passenger bus from Mymensingh at Sharifpur of Jamalpur Sadar Upazila on Jamalpur-Mymensingh high way, police said.

Driver Abul Kashem, 40 and an unknown passenger of the auto rickshaw succumbed to injuries in the hospital.

Receiving information of the accident a team of fire service and civil defence rushed to the spot and rescued the injured passengers including the driver and sent them to Jamalpur General Hospital.

Doctors declared one of the injured passengers dead after they were taken to the hospital.

Critically injured two passengers including the driver were shifted to Mymensingh Medical college hospital where the driver succumbed to his injuries.

After the accident bus driver and its helper fled away.
