BGB seizes 400 cartons of cigarettes in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Mar 2, 2025 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized 400 cartons of foreign cigarettes brought illegally from India at Jorarganj border of the district today.

Members of BGB's Koyalarmukh Battalion of Ramgarh seized the cigarettes in an abounded state at Rahmatpur village of Korerhat Union at around 9:30 pm last night.
 
Based on information, a BGB patrol team led by Naib Subedar Ibn Mizanur of Koyalarmukh BOP under the Ramgarh Battalion (43 BGB) conducted a raid on the border area and recovered these cigarettes.
 
The seized cigarettes have been deposited at the battalion headquarters for destruction.
 Ramgarh Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Syed Imam Hossain said the BGB drive will continue to secure the border and prevent smuggling of illegal goods.
