Two tea workers killed in Sylhet road accident

SYLHET, March 3, 2025 (BSS) - Two tea workers were killed and 18 others 
injured in a road accident in Dhalai area under Srimangal upazila of Moulvibazar 
district today.

The deceased were Vishal, 19, son of Sadhan of Amrail Tea Garden and Hridoy 
Rabi Das, 32, son of Ram Rabi Das of the same area.

The accident occurred on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway this morning when a 
pickup, carrying the tea workers, turned turtle as its driver lost control over the 
vehicle, leaving its 20 passengers injured, said Saifur Rahman, officer-in-charge 
(OC) of Srimangal Satgaon Highway Police Station.

The injured were taken to Srimangal Upazila Health Complex. Later, of the 
injured eight were sent to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital where two workers 
succumbed to their injuries.
