KHULNA, March 04, 2025 (BSS) -A mobile court has shut down 22 brick kilns on Monday in Khulna's Rupsha upazila for violating the Brick Manufacturing and Kiln Establishment Act.

Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Apratim Kumar Chakraborty, along with Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rupsha Police Station Mohammad Mahfuzur Rahman, led the drive.

The mobile court closed the 22 brick kilns under the Brick Manufacturing and Kiln Establishment (Control) Act, 2013, as amended in 2019, as the authorities could not show any legal documents during the drive.

"The drive was conducted to close illegal brick kilns as per the directions of the High Court," Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Apratim Kumar Chakraborty said.

At that time, the kilns were closed as the authorities of 22 illegal brick kilns could not show any documents. Such activities will continue in the public interest, he added.

Members of Rupsha Police Station, Fire Service, Ansar and Pallibidyut Samity were present during the drive.
