NOAKHALI, March 5, 2025 (BSS) - The Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested 
a couple with 2,000 pieces of yaba tablets from Housing area of the district 
town last night.

The arrested are Ershad Ullah, 28, and his wife Najma Akhtar, 39, residents 
of Bhabani Jibanpur village under Begumganj upazila of the district.

Being informed, a team of the DB police conducted a drive in the area around 
10.30 pm and arrested the couple while they were selling yaba tablets in 
front of Dr. Rezaul Karim Bari Diabetic Hospital, said Mohammad Ashraf Uddin, 
officer-in-charge (OC) of the district Intelligence Branch.

"The couple has been involved in drug trading for a long time," he said, 
adding that a case was filed in this connection.
