Septuagenarian killed in Satkhira road accident

SATKHIRA, March 22, 2025 (BSS) - A septuagenarian was killed when a motorcycle hit him on Satkhira-Khulna highway at Milon Bazar area last night.

The deceased was Mohor Ali, 70, hailed from Uttar Katiya of the district.

According to eyewitness Gouro Datta, the incident occurred around 9pm when Mohor Ali was crossing the busy highway.

Later, he was rescued and taken to to Satkhira CB Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead around 12am.

The motorcyclist was identified as Tanjim Ahamed, hailed from old Satkhira.

"No formal complaint has been filed regarding the accident. However, we will take the necessary legal steps after receiving the complaint," said Shaminul Haque, officer-in-charge of Satkhira Sadar Police Station.
