CHATTOGRAM, May 5, 2025 (BSS) - Two infants tragically lost their lives this 
afternoon after drowning in the water of a pond in Rangunia upazila of the 
district.

The deceased were identified as Md. Ayan, 4, son of Abul Bayan, a Saudi 
expatriate from the local Subedar Bari area and Ahmed, 5, son of Abdul 
Hannan, also an expatriate from the same area.
 
Rangunia Upazila Parishad (UP) member Gazi Mohammad Enam said the duo were 
always playing together. They accidentally fell into a pond near their house 
and drowned while playing beside the water body.
 
A nearby housewife discovered their life-less bodies floating in the pond. 
Upon hearing her screams, locals rushed to the spot and rescued them from the 
pond.

They took the children to the Upazila Health Complex where on-duty doctors 
declared the duo dead," Enam added.
