3 fugitive convicts held in Rangpur, Gaibandha

RANGPUR, May 6, 2025 (BSS) - The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 in three separate drives arrested three fugitives sentenced to a one-year term in prison each from various places in Rangpur and Gaibandha districts on Monday.
 
The arrestees were Bakul Mia, 40, of village Nelokchondi under Gangachara upazila and Matiar Rahman, 45, of village Lahirirhat under Sadar upazila in Rangpur and Abdul Jalil, 45, of Islampur under Sadar upazila in Gaibandha district, said a press release.

Earlier, various courts in Rangpur and Gaibandha sentenced Bakul Mia, Matiar Rahman and Abdul Jalil to one year in prison each in 2021 and 2022 in separate criminal cases following trials in their absence.

The arrested convicts have been handed over to the concerned police stations of Rangpur and Gaibandha for further legal proceedings, the release said.
