Abducted rural physician from Gaibandha rescued in Bogura

RANGPUR, May 6, 2025 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) rescued an abducted rural physician from Nishindara area under Sadar Police Station in Bogura district on Monday.
 
The victim is Md. Tariqul Islam, originally from Bhatgram village under Sadullapur Police Station in Gaibandha district, a press release said.
 
Earlier, Tariqul Islam was abducted from Bhatgram at around 4:40pm on May 2, reportedly following a financial dispute.
 
Later, his younger brother filed a kidnapping case with Sadullapur Police Station.
 
Acting on a tip-off, a joint team comprising Crime Prevention Company-3 of RAB-13's Gaibandha Camp and a team of RAB-12's Bogura Camp rescued him at around 3:25pm on Monday.
 
The victim was handed over to Sadullapur police station, the release further added.
