BSTI conducts drive in petrol pumps, seals two in Cumilla

CUMILLA, May 6, 2025(BSS) - Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institute (BSTI) today conducted drive in different petrol pumps of the district and sealed two of them for giving less oil to the customers.

The BSTI team led by its Deputy Director (DD) Cumilla zone K M Hanif conducted the surveillance drive in different petrol pumps in Cumilla city and Chauddagram upazila from 10 am to 4 pm.

The team during its drive found that a petrol pump named M/S Sharif Enterprise by two of its dispensers gave 190 milliliters and 200 milliliters oil less to two customers against 10 litre order and ordered to suspend its four units.

On the other hand, the team found that another petrol pump-M/S M A Hakim and Brothers at Gadhir Pukurpar in the town with its two diesel dispensing units was giving 340 milliliters and 390 milliliters less against 10 litre order. The BSTI in its on-spot decision sealed both the units of the pump.
