Two sweet shops fined Tk 50,000 in Rangpur city

RANGPUR, May 17, 2025 (BSS) - A mobile court in a drive today fined two sweet 
shops Taka 50,000 for manufacturing and selling sweets without Certification 
Mark (CM) licenses in the Paira Chattar area on Central Road in the city.
 
"The Rangpur divisional office of Bangladesh Standards and Testing 
Institution (BSTI) and Rangpur district administration jointly conducted the 
drive," said a press release issued here this afternoon. 
 
During the drive, the mobile court, led by Executive Magistrate of the 
district administration Joaarder Asif, fined Messrs Bishu Sweets and Messrs 
Ghosh Sweets Store Taka 25,000 each.
 
The BSTI prosecutors were Field Officer (Certification Marks) Marufa Begum 
and Inspector (Metrology) Md Nasir Uddin. 
 
Deputy Director (Physical) and Rangpur divisional office Chief of BSTI Mobin-
Ul-Islam told BSS that the divisional BSTI office will continue such drives 
in the public interest.
