Bangladesh U-23 football lose again to Bahrain

DHAKA, Aug 23, 2025 (BSS)-Bangladesh U-23 football team again suffered a 2-4 defeat to host Bahrain in the second and final friendly close door match held in Bahrain on Friday last night.  

The Young Bengal Tigers led the first half 2-1, but Bahrain came back strongly in the second half to secure their victory.

The match between Bangladesh and Bahrain teams has been recognized as a FIFA Tier-2 match. Like the first friendly match, the result of the second match was not officially announced as the two teams played the closed door match.

The Bangladesh U-23 football team played the two friendly matches against Bahrain as a part of preparation for their next month Asian Cup qualifiers in Vietnam.

Bangladesh have been undergoing a 12-day training camp in Bahrain from August 14 ahead of their qualifiers campaign and is expected to return home tomorrow (Sunday).

Bangladesh will play Group C against hosts Vietnam on September 3, before facing Yemen and Singapore on September 6 and 9, respectively, in the qualifiers. 

Earlier, Bangladesh U-23 football team suffered a 1-0 defeat to Bahrain U-23 football team in the first close door friendly match.
