Meshu content with team’s preparation in Bahrain

DHAKA, Aug 23, 2025 (BSS)- Bangladesh U-23 national football team’s assistant coach Atiqur Rahman Meshu  said the team has taken a very good preparation for their next month’s AFC U-23 Asian Cup Qualifiers in Vietnam. 

The Bangladesh U-23 football team are now in Bahrain where they played two preparation matches against their Bahrain counterpart as a part of preparation for the Asian Cup qualifiers.

“We came to Bahrain with a target of playing two preparation matches……. we have been able to test these players’ capability in two matches because all twenty four players were given the chance to play,” Meshu said through a video message.

“We, the coaching staff, had come to Bahrain with a target to form team the for the upcoming Vietnam tournament and I must say thank the Bangladesh football Federation for sending the team in Bahrain …  it was overall a good preparation for the team and we must try our best to qualify in the Vietnam tournament,” he concluded. 
Bangladesh have been undergoing a twelve day training camp in Bahrain from August 14 ahead of their qualifiers campaign.

Bangladesh will play Group C against hosts Vietnam on September 3, before facing Yemen and Singapore on September 6 and 9, respectively, in the qualifiers.
Earlier, Bangladesh U-23 football team suffered a 1-0 defeat to Bahrain U-23 football team in the first close door friendly match.
