MANIKGANJ, Aug 23, 2025 (BSS) - A van driver was killed in a head-on collision between a van and a pick-up truck in Shibalaya upazila of the district on Friday evening.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Barangail Highway Police Mostafizur Rahman said the accident occurred around 5:30 pm on the Dhaka-Aricha highway near Falsatia Bridge, when the two vehicles collided head-on.

He said the impact threw the van driver into a roadside water-filled ditch. After a prolonged search, locals and fire service personnel recovered his body. 

Police seized the pick-up truck, but its driver managed to flee, the OC added.
